Sectors

Education
For over 30 years H Mealing & Sons Ltd have specialised in carrying out building works within the schools sector.

Our main clients are schools within South Gloucestershire DC, Bath and North East Somerset Council, Bristol City Council and Wiltshire CC as well as private schools such as King Edwards School and The Royal High School. Projects range from small value maintenance works up to £2m new buildings.

We have recently completed a £1.8m extension for Batheaston Primary School and to quote the Head Teacher ‘after working in Schools for years they really understand our context and interests and are incredibly flexible and ‘can do’ about our requests’.

Our skill in this sector has been reflected in us winning the BANES award for the best public sector building – education for the last 3 years.

In addition to our work within schools we are a frame work contractor at the University of the West England for building work up to £500k.

Care and Affordable Housing
We have over the past 6 years developed a close working relationship with Brunelcare and successfully delivered a number of challenging extensions to occupied Care Homes on time and to budget.

Examples include a £500k extension to the Good Shepherd Care Home that involved constructing a timber frame extension above an existing single storey section. We are currently working on a £1.1m extension and refurbishment at Robinson House in Bristol a Care Home for people with dementia.

Health
Recent projects include upgrade works to Wroughton Health Centre in Swindon and Grosvenor Place Surgery in Bath.

Our operatives are skilled at working within existing occupied buildings and both clients were surprised and delighted at how little two major refurbishment projects impacted on the day to day running of their facilities.

Commercial, Industrial and Defence
We regularly undertake refurbishment works to MOD facilities within the Bath and Bristol area and many of our operatives are security cleared to work within sensitive areas within these sites.

We undertake work to commercial buildings including refurbishment, upgrade works and structural alterations
